looking ahead to 2025

As 2024 comes to a close, the Mindboost team wanted to take this time to reflect on an incredible year filled with groundbreaking projects, inspirational thought leadership, and meaningful collaborations. From delving into the most pressing challenges in learning to pioneering designs that evoke genuine emotion – this year has been nothing short of transformative. Let’s take a moment to revisit some of our favourite moments from the last 12 months and take a glimpse into our exciting plans for 2025.

the LPI’s top 5 challenges facing heads of learning

This year, we delved into The Learning and Performance Institute’s (The LPI) top challenges for learning leaders: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), Impact & ROI, Engagement, Leadership Development, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). These challenges reflect the rapidly evolving landscape of workplace learning. For instance, addressing EDI has become increasingly vital as organisations aim to foster inclusive environments where all employees can thrive. Research from McKinsey shows that companies in the top quartile for diversity are 36% more likely to outperform their peers in profitability.

Our research into Impact & ROI, emphasised the importance of data-driven decision-making, helping leaders measure the tangible benefits of their learning initiatives. Engagement strategies included innovative solutions like gamification and interactive learning modules, which have been shown to boost learner retention by up to 60%. Leadership development remained a cornerstone, with a focus on cultivating adaptive leaders prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. Finally, we explored the transformative potential of AI in personalising learning journeys, drawing on insights from industry pioneers.

setting the standard for inclusion within hospitality with BaxterStorey

Our on-going collaboration with BaxterStorey is a shining example of how learning can drive tangible change. Together, we set new benchmarks for inclusion within the hospitality industry, reinforcing the power of belonging in the workplace. For instance, our tailored workshops and training programs helped BaxterStorey increase employee satisfaction scores by 18% in just six months.

The initiative also served as a model for other organisations, showcasing how targeted efforts in inclusion can yield significant business benefits. A recent Deloitte study found that inclusive companies are twice as likely to meet or exceed financial targets. Learn more about what we did here.

the 5 pillars of happiness: boosting employee happiness with the PERMA model

In one of our recent deepdives, we examined how the PERMA model, (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment), can be leveraged to enhance employee wellbeing through learniing. By integrating these principles into workplace learning, we help foster environments where people truly thrive. For example, organisations that prioritise Positive Emotion through recognition programs have reported a 21% increase in productivity, according to Gallup.

Our article provided actionable steps for each pillar, such as fostering Engagement through challenging yet achievable tasks and building strong Relationships via collaborative team-building activities. You can read the full article here.

the power of design in digital learning

Design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating experiences that stick and enact real positive change. As we do every year, we spotlighted the role of thoughtful design in driving employee success through digital learning. For instance, using micro-learning techniques which are short, focused and exact, we helped clients reduce training time by 40% while maintaining high levels of comprehension.

We also emphasised accessibility, ensuring that digital learning solutions cater to diverse learner needs, including those with disabilities. Data from the World Bank indicates that 15% of the global population experiences some form of disability, making inclusive design not just a moral imperative but a strategic advantage. The LPI’s Learning Live 2024

Learning Live 2024 was a standout event for us, providing a platform to connect with industry leaders and share our vision for the future of workplace learning. From inspiring keynote sessions on emerging trends like hybrid learning models to workshops on emotional intelligence, the event reaffirmed our commitment to innovation and excellence.

A key highlight was our session on “The Future of AI in Learning,” which drew over 500 participants and sparked vibrant discussions. Attendees praised our practical frameworks for integrating AI into learning strategies, emphasizing its potential to enhance both efficiency and engagement. Relive the highlights here.

elevating emotion in onboarding

First impressions matter, and this year we doubled down on creating onboarding experiences that resonate emotionally. Our guide to elevating emotion in onboarding became a go-to resource for organizations looking to welcome new hires in a way that feels meaningful and impactful. For example, we worked with a leading tech firm to design an onboarding journey that included personalized video messages from team leaders, resulting in a 25% reduction in new hire turnover.

Studies from Glassdoor reveal that a strong onboarding process can improve new hire retention by 82% and productivity by over 70%. Our approach combines storytelling, interactivity, and tailored learning paths to ensure every employee feels valued from day one. Explore our strategies here.

looking ahead to 2025
